Trying to find a winery
 

Going to italy next month for several weeks A friend recommended we visit a of winery by the name of MAZZIE (sp?) but I can't find it. Can someone help? Thanks

Is it in the Veneto?

You might also be thinking Renzo Masi located in Rufino outside of Florence.
Great wines, and they are presently building a large tasting center in the hills of their vineyards.

I'm pretty sure it is outside Florence- thanks for helping me locate.

It is Mazzei...they made our favorite chianti...a '97 Fonterutolo reserve.

It is in the small, pretty village of Fonterutoli. We were there a couple of years ago and were disappointed to find that the winery was not open at the time we were there.

Although it sounds like Mazzei might indeed be what you are seeking, another well-known winery that gets a lot of favorable attnetion here is (Rocca delle) <b>Macie</b> (probaby not what your friend meant if you;re sure it was a &quot;Z&quot; sound, rather than a &quot;chee&quot; sound). Search &quot;macie&quot; here or take a look at roccadellemacie.com - - you'll find many very positive comments.

If you can make it to Rocca delle Macie, definitely do!! Wonderful wines and their restaurant Fizzano is to die for (need reservations). We've stayed in their apartments a couple times, wonderful location, with pool too.
