Truffles!!! Will I find them mid-late Oct?
 

I'm hoping we will hit the truffle harvest or be right after it. Will areas that don't grow them will still have on their menus this time of year? (forgive me if this is naive)

Panzano/Tuscany Oct 21
Venice Oct 25
Milan Oct 28

Selected restaurants have truffles almost all year round as far as I know. Umbria and Piemonte are maybe the 2 most famous regions where the precious truffles come from, but then they sell them almost all over Italy.

tuscanlifeedit - I had never really 'read' your screen name - I get your newsletter and that forwarding it to DH is what made me ask!

It seemed that most of the festivals were in NOV/Dec, which is why I asked if I would find them in Oct. Wonderful information!

Thanks Rex - Forli has a festival while we are there, so now I have to check the drive times!

Favorite dishes I should look for? DH is CRAZY about mushrooms in general, and dying to find truffles - black and white.
