Trouble Posting Trip Report

I'm trying to post a large trip report and it won't go though. Is there a limit of words per post? Thanks in advance.

Yes I've read you can only post a certain # of words at a time. What others do is post a few paragraphs then click for posting a reply to their own "question" & continue in sections.

I'm having a different problem posting a report. I've written it as a file & am trying to "copy & paste" it onto a post unsuccessfully. Any advice?

Laurie:

Instead of using the Copy and Paste commands, highlight the text you want to put in the post, then hit Control C. Go to the place you want to post it to, and hit Control V. Don't know why that works, but it often does when Copy and Paste commands don't.

Assuming you don't mind if other's e-mail you directly, I would suggest you post a message indicating you have a trip report for such & such a place with a little about your report (where, what area covered) and request that people e-mail you directly for your report. In researching my trips, I have gotten so much info from people's trip reports. Personally, a long message even in parts is too time consuming to read and cut and paste. I like to print out the reports for my travel file.

I can't imagine why there is any objection to someone posting as long a trip report as they want. No one says that anyone HAS to read it!

Yes, it is necessary to cut the report into "chunks" of no more than (about) 500 words. Cutting and pasting from a word processing prgoram is generally the easiest way to do this. And add each piece as a reply to your original post, not as separate "threads" (new individual posts).

I suppose if you want to also offer it as an e-mail (all in one piece) to those who request it, that would be a nice gesture to a few people.

Best wishes,

Rex
I hope I'm not in a battle of trip report postings (obviously no HAS to read them), as I do read those posted here. It's just that the reports are often interrupted by people's comments and then it's a cut & paste proposition. It's just really nice to get the whole report via e-mail.

Thank you StCirq! The control C & control V worked like a charm although when it printed, I got 3 or 4 repetitions-just had to delete the repeats.

Control C then when you click where you want it Control V works every time everywhere!!
