Trouble buying train tickets on Trentalia?

Has anyone had any trouble buying tickets on Trentalia on the internet? I have tried several times with various credit cards and get a variety of error messages from no seats available to a banking error occurred.

I'm trying to buy tickets for a family of four from Florence to Rome on July 29. I also am going to need tickets from Rome to Orvieto for July 20. I had been told it was fine to wait on Rome to Orvieto, but now Im nervous that I won't be able to get any when we are there.

Seems to be working OK now. If you still have problems copy the error messages and paste here.

Aduncan, I just purchased tickets on Italiarail.com. Great prices, same as Trenitalia. There are still super economy tickets available at $40.00 each (Florence to Rome). Website is very easy to use.

Yes I registered. I'll try italiarail.com and then copy any error messages. Some question on if my card doesn't have a chip? Could that be it?

FYI- You cannot change full fare tickets purchased on Italiarail as you can tickets purchased on Trenitalia. Italiarail is a reseller and doesn't stand by any of the fare terms (exchange, refund, etc.) that are available on Trenitalia.

Standard fare Florence - Rome tickets that you can get until the train's departure cost 43 EUR for high speed trains (1 1/2 hrs), 33 EUR for IC trains (3 hrs) and 20 EUR for regional trains (4 hrs).
Rome - Orvieto costs 8 EUR by regional train (1 hr 20 min) and 16 EUR by IC train (1 hr 10 min).

No. Did you notify your credit card company you were making an Italian online purchase so they wouldn't block the transaction?
