Trope? Taormina?
 

I'm planning on either Tropea in Calabria or again back to Taormina for a beach vacation . Taormina Sicily is beautiful, but i've been there twice. I cant find much information on Tropea. Anyone know if Tropea is as beautiful as Taormina or close.

The whole area around Tropea is beautiful but it is shall we say more rural? There are cities and towns but the accommodations are not up to par with Taormina.

There are places further north of Tropea that have sort of tacky-ish tourist/beach development.

I am basing my answer on a trip I took a few years ago so someone else may have newer information, it is an area just waiting for a deluxe developer to come along.

Click on my screen name and you will find many reports that include my visits there. I think Tropea is actually more beautiful & less touristy.

anyone know if there is anything to do in the evenings in Tropea.We are in our late 20s early 30s looking for a relaxing beach vacation with some places to hang out at night. Not any clubs or anything like that.
