Trogir or Split?
We have 2 days in the area before we leave Croatia -- better to stay in Trogir or Split? Any accommodation recommendations?
|
Dear Liz,
Definitely stay in Trojir; it's more manageable for 2 days. From there, you can take the short trip into Split and visit Diocletian's Palace for a couple of hours. We stayed at the Hotel Concordia (www.concordia-hotel.htnet.hr/); reasonably priced, clean, good breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. Check out my trip report for other Trogir recommendations. Have fun! Laz |
I so agree - Trogir is a lovely small town and especially magical in the mornings and evenings. Split, in my opinion, is worth a few hours but I enjoyed it far less than Trogir.

Trogir, Trogir, Trogir!!! It's a charming little town with windy little streets, a beautiful harbor, good restaurants, galleries, and a huge daily open air market. I stayed at Hotel Pasike http://www.hotelpasike.com/ which I really enjoyed. They had a very good breakfast buffet and their restaurant is good also. They also provide free transportation to the airport

Trogir, hands down. I've visited there twice and going again this summer. It is truly magical and romantic especially at night. Diocletian palace and the Split Riva(boardwalk) is worth a visit. Can't wait to go back.

Split Riva has been undergoing major renovation for the last 5 months. The works will be completed some time in May this year.
