Trivia Challenge #2
Napoleon's Tomb -- almost all the tourists go there. But can you tell me how many coffins enclose his body and what are they made of?
Al, is it 3? No idea what they are made of.
6 boxes for the littlest emperor who did infinite damage to the male population of Europe.
From inner most to outer most, the boxes are made from tin, mahogany, lead, lead, ebony, oak. The outer sarcophagus in which the metal boxes reside is made of a red, fine-grained, igneous rock called porphyry, according to the book, and it sits on a base of green granite. So depending on how you count the red rock container, it is either 6 or 7.
I guess the folks who put him in there wanted to make sure he didn't get out again.

Al, do we have a winner?
I think we have a wiener/weener
Shameful!
Bob Brown wins. To find a block of porphyry large enough for the tomb, a search was made throughout France, Greece, and Italy. Finally blocks large enough were found in the former Russian province of Karelia (now part of Finland), and it took two years to haul them to France, and then another three years to fashion them into the form you can see today.
