Trips from Paris
Hi
I am travelling to Paris for a week in September/October and will have a couple of days to spare. Does anyone have any suggestions on where might be nice and easily accessible by train to spend a couple of days?? Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks! |
What do you want to see? If you want to see a different city (cathedral, museum, whatever), there are many cities in France (and Belgium) less than 2 hours away by train.
Personally, I would say to go to Strasbourg for a couple of days -- it is completely different from Paris. |
If a day trip suits you, would suggest Chartres or Versailles.

Hi ems,
Lucky you, an extra couple of days in Paris. ((I)) |
Or you could try Burgundy (Dijon or Beaune)
|
Chartres for sure.

For some great ideas, get Annabel Sims book "An Hour From Paris": http://www.amazon.com/Hour-Paris-Ann...1115925&sr=8-1

If you have "overage" from a full week in Paris, then maybe Normandy would be nice. Or even Provence--TGV to Avignon and rent a car.
If it is a "day trip" then Giverney or Chartres or Versailles. |
That sounds great - thanks for the replies!

Chartres, Funtainbleau, Giverny, Chantilly, Malmaison, Reims all less than 2hrs from Paris
|
FoUntainbleau
|
FONtainEbleau.
London, Amsterdam, Bruges, Brussels, Loire Valley, Normandy, Provence, Champagne Country, Alsace, Lille, La Rochelle, and innumerable daytrip options like Auvers-sur-Oise, Vaux-le-Vicomte, Ile des Impressionistes, Saint-Denis, Amiens, Senlis and Chantilly, and others already mentioned. |
Or as my NY wife would say it...
