Triples rooms in Paris
 

My mother, 9 yr old daughter and I will be in Paris for 5 nights in November. We need a room that can accommodate the three of us and, based on fellow fodorites' recommendations, are looking to stay in the 4th, 6th or 7th arr. Our budget is 155 Euros a night. Is that totally unreasonable? Should we look into apartments?

How long are you planning on being in Paris this November? There are some hotels with enough space available, but if you can do an apartment, I'd recommend it. Have you checked Paris Perfect? It's a good place to start.

I'm sorry! 5 nights should be enough for renting an apartment in November.

Check the Hôtel de France on the Boulevard de la Tour Maubourg in the 7ème. Not sure they'd have a triple for that amount, but they might.

Checked the Hotel de France and it is 250/nt. I also checked Paris Perfect but they seem to all rent by the week.

Any other recommended apartment rental sites? I've always used vrbo.com but have never used this site to rent outside of the U.S.

You can rent for a week for a thousand euros at your budget and just not use the extra two days. You will save money by eating meals in, not just breakfast but dinner, with your lunch being your special meal.

Don't want to cook on vacation? Paris is full of places with cooked food (traiteurs) and even gourmet frozen dinners .

Best is that the apartment becomes your special part of Paris, where you shop and say hello every day.

A little over your budget, but Hotel Clement in the 6th has triples for 175 euros. We have enjoyed our previous two stays there, and will be staying there again in June.

Check the Hotel Muguet in the 7th. When I put some dates in Nov. for 2 adults and 1 child it gives a price very near your goal. To be sure I would just email them instead of filling out the form.http://www.hotelparismuguet.com/

Yes, check out Hotel Muguet - the triple room we were in was a good sized room, a separate area for the single bed, not a cot crammed in by the other. Hopefully it will be close to your pricepoint.

This is in the 5th, but is essentially surrounded by the other arrondissements you were after.

It's not fancy, but it's cheap (110 euros?), clean, has a bathtub, and is very quiet. No AC (not that it matters in Nov). I really like the neighborhood; very close to Rue Mouffetard.

You have to email them and ask for the triple. I don't think they even advertise it.

Another vote for the Hotel Clement. We stayed in a triple room and there were 4 of us. It is very clean, but shabby chic. It will be tight, this is Paris, you shouldn't be in your room much anyway. If you do stay there, don't take their breakfast at 12 E each. There are a ton of places much better and cheaper (start with the Marche across the street).

Hotel Marignan (http://www.hotel-marignan.com/prices.html#) has triples for 115€ in Nov and that includes breakfast. It's in the 5th, not sure why you didn't include that quarter as many people, myself included, prefer it. The hotel is half a block from the Cluny and another couple blocks to Notre Dame yet is on a quiet street. It's a one star so no lift, no TV, but it does have wi-fi. I have stayed there and will again.

In the 6th I've stayed at Hotel St Andre des Arts which I know has quads, breakfast also included there.

The Hotel du Lys, rue Serpente in the 6th, has a triple. It's a 2 star and has no elevator, but super location, and price includes breakfast. www.hoteldulys.com

I stayed in www.vrbo.com/58971 with my daughter and 6 yr old granddaughter a couple of years ago. I think apartments are the way to go with a 3 generation group. I've used VRBO several times in France and no problems. 58971 is in the 6th, also, and on ground level so no stairs to climb. Great location, also.
Often places will quote a price for the week, but unless they state that they only rent by the week, I'd ask. I know we did not spend a full week there, 5 or maybe 6 nights.

I stayed there but had a single and liked the location and price!

We've used Vacation in Paris (vacationinparis.com) before, and highly recommend them. The company is based in New Jersey, and sends all of the property details, as well as the key to the apartment before you leave. We are going back to Paris this summer, and our adult daughter will be joining us. We've booked an apartment through VIP for this trip, also.

As mentioned above, your €155 per night = €1085. You can find ALL KINDS of apartments for €1000 or less per week. So even 'eating' the 2 nights you'd end up under budget. I would much rather stay in a large studio or small 1-bdrm flat for €1000 than a cramped triple hotel room for €1085.

Now we have gone from not knowing where to turn to having too many choices! Thus far, Hotel de la Paix, Hotel Clement, Hotel Acte V and Hotel Marignan are on our list. The rates range from 115 - 185 E which is a pretty big variance so we'll have to really look at what each one has to offer. Hotel de la Paix is over our budget at 185 E but looks to be the nicest.

We will check out vacationinparis as well.

Hotel St Jacques has at least one triple room. Ours had a twin bed and a double bed. We liked this hotel and the neighborhood. I think it is very close to your budget.

I put in for 5 nights, 2 adults and one child. Rates were 127EU to 168EU.
