Trip to Spain
Hello.
Plan to take a trip to Spain in the latter half of May 2016 for 8 days from USA ( with wife and 20 year old son) Have already visited Barcelona. Would like to visit Madrid, Seville, Cordoba. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks |
The best arrangement would to fly into Madrid and out of Seville. Cordoba is 45 minutes from Seville, and would work well as a day trip. If flying in and out of Madrid, you could theoretically head to Seville directly, 2.5 hours by train once you get to town, thus saving a hotel change, as it is wise to stay in a departure city the night before flying home.

Although it is a tight agenda already, you should include Granada to see the Alhambra.

I agree with joannyc that adding Granada makes a LOT of sense. I also agree that you can't see all those places in the time you have, and since Madrid is the one most easily visited from the US, that's the one that I, personally, would shortchange (on the assumption that it would be easiest to include in a subsequent trip). Just an idea to consider.

I would consider flying into Madrid and spending 3 nights, taking a train to Seville and spending 3 nights (one day as a day-trip to Cordoba), then train to Granada for 1 nights. Train to Madrid on the last day for your flight home. A night in Madrid can be taken out and put into Seville or Granada both if you'd prefer!

Cordoba celebrates the Feria (spring fair) May 21-28. http://www.spain.info/en/que-quieres...e_cordoba.html
http://www.andalucia.com/festival/co...pring-fair.htm 1h 40 mins from Madrid with the high speed AVE train. Also close to Sevilla and Malaga (42 and 50 minutes with the AVE Train). |
