Trip to Portugal or south of France?
We are 3 couples in late 20s residing in different countries (US, Norway and India) planning a 3 week trip to Europe. We have narrowed down to Spain for 10-12 days. We are not sure if we should do Portugal or South of France for the rest 8-10 days. We are planning our trip for 2nd week of April and more interested in nature and outdoor activities. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Well in southern Spain April can be beach weather. We have been twice then and the high temps were in the 80s and the hotel pools were open.
BUT, you don't say where you will be going in Spain. Madrid or Barcelona will likely be quite a bit cooler. And IMHO Andalusia is by far the most interesting part of Spain.
Without knowing more about your plans - and what your interests are - it's hard to make specific recos.
We MUCH prefer France to Portugal (which I find kind of depressing) but again - you need to tell us more about what you are looking for.

Can't think why nyt would find Portugal depressing. Lisbon is one of my favorite cities, and there are plenty of other places to see. Of course, I like France too, hard choice. Have you been to either before?

Thanks for the prompt reply everyone, we are planning Madrid (2 days), Andalusia (5 days) and Barcelona (3 days) in the same order, which would get us to 1st week of May. - if you guys have suggestions here, please feel free to recommend.
It's first time for us in Europe (excluding the couple who just moved there). We enjoy old town architecture as well as ocean front, we are looking for more group type fun (night life, festival, road trip) in Spain and then a different experience in Portugal (open to any cities) or south of France (French Riveria)
Thanks again!
