Trip to paris
 

We are planning on taking our three granddaughters(10,11,13) to Paris for 3 days in July 2008 and wondered if anyone has found affordable accomodation for 5 people; close to metro , markets , restaurants etc?,What besides the obvious would you suggest to do and see?
We have been to Paris before(my husband and I ),however this is the girl's first trip overseas. We want to make this a memorable trip for the girls
Plans are to go to Brugge after and then Holland.
I would appreciate anyone's input.

please say what you would like to spend per night to accommodate all of you. I suggest two rooms, adjoining, at least. Rooms for five are very few and far between, and in any case would be crowded. Two rooms, even if not huge, would provide a little walking around or resting space, and two bathrooms. So what is your budget per night?

With the 3 girls, I highly recommend getting an apartment. This will give you all much needed space and also will save you a lot of money. We always buy drinks, snacks and breakfast items to have in the apartment. I find that it's usually less expensive than getting two rooms.

You should ask the girls to look at some guidebooks or videos and say what the #1,2 and 3 things would make the trip special to them.

If you search on "triples" you will get hotels that have a room to accomodate the girls, and therefore would also accomodate the two of you in a 2nd room.

Thanks for the input .I like the idea of an apartment.I'm finding that a lot of the hotels , frown on taking food to your room ; very difficult not to do with children.
Would you suggest looking at guide books or on the internet for an apartment?

We have suggested to the girls that they each look to see what 3 things they most want to do when in Paris. They thought that was a good idea.
YOu can just imagine how excited these girls (as well as the grandparents)are about this trip !

There is a 3 bedroom apartment at the Jeu de Paume hotel. I think the Relais Christine or the D'Ubbusson has one, too.

I just found out that kids under 14 need passports!! They take forever to get these days.

I was asked how much we were prepared to pay per night. In looking at prices , I don't think we can get away (for the 5 of us) with less then $210 euros per night .???? It would be nice if we could stay for less. We want to be in a clean , safe , quiet environment
Any ideas?
