Trip report: Two Fall weeks in south central France

Part of the time in Provence, and part in the Occitanie - thus the title. The report is in my usual captioned photo album style, but with fewer photos and generally shorter captions than usual. The places visited were all new for the rest of our group of seven (and in fact, the first visit to France for four), but a number were repeat visits for me - so, I have referenced the previous more detailed reports in the captions. The places shown are in the order of the visits.

Mike, your photos are always so good. I just had time to go through the first set of photos now but will be back later. These photos are so welcome on a bleak day here.

Can you tell me what are those green and pink rolled-up things are that lie across the charlotte? Probably something I can't make at home.

Colored white chocolate tubes, as I recall.

I always enjoy your photographic reports and was especially happy to see your pictures of Montpellier, one of my favorite cities that doesn't seem to be much mentioned here. The urban planners so successfully integrate the old and the new there. Also the photos of St.-Guilhem-le-Désert brought back warm memories of an excellent cassoulet lunch we had there. Thanks!

Mike, Your photos are gorgeous! I have visited many of the places on your list. Our oldest daughter lives in Provence so we visit quite frequently. This past August we spent 2 nights in St. Guilhem le Desert and 1 night in Carcassone. Loved both places!

Mike, I enjoyed every photo. Thank you. You saw so much in two weeks.

Do you spend winter Sundays looking at your trip photos? I do. It gets me through to the next trip.

Well, all my digital photos of France since 2003 - more than 7000 and counting - are now on an electronic photo frame in the living room. So, I don't need to seek them out: they come to me automatically every day. What could be better than that?
