We planned our visit to Santorini around the cruise schedules, too. I think there was one ship in port each day we were there. So not too bad. I made our reservations at least 6 months in advance. I am currently planning a trip to Italy for next May that includes Cinque Terre, and the cruise schedule is already listed for May 2025.

Thanks for sharing your trip through your wonderful report! We also used a strategy for Santorini! Honestly, we had a hard time staying in Santorini, and could not wait to leave after four days there.However, on our. next trip to Greece we returned as Akrotiri was not open on our first visit. It was worth the return to see it but we disliked Santorini even more on our second visit. We love Greece but when we visit Santorini we feel like we have left Greece.
