Very interesting trip report. Good amount of detail, but not too much. Just right. It reminds me once again of all the wonderful places I have not visited.

Your talking about Gaelic reminds me of what a thrill I felt when I was in some small Irish town and saw a flock of teenage girls chattering away in Gaelic.

yes, crowgirl, very enjoyable.

I'm glad that you liked your train journey so much. sadly the novelty palls after you've commuted for 15 years or so, but I still love the train journey from Cornwall to London. The stretch between Exeter and Penzance must be one of the world's great train journeys.
