Hi,

loved your trip report, and totally agree about L'Orso 80...very disappointing.

Best regards,

Just called about the car and found out (you were right, Sue_xx_yy) that there is a 29 minute grace period through Autoeurope, otherwise you are charged for a whole extra day. The woman on the phone told me in would have been in the fine print on the vouchers. Wish I'd read more closely.

Also, be sure to check your bank statements when you get home! Though Bank of America is in the Global Exchange network and I was told they would waive the $5 international fee if I used Deutsche Bank ATMs (in addition to a few others), I was nevertheless charged and had to make a special call to have them removed. Blah.

Mtadams,

Love your comment about being in heaven dining at Grappolo Blu. I ate there the first night and returned for the other 2 I had in Montalcino. I knew I was in heaven! Especially since their dishes are so perfect with the Brunello. Sigh.....

Thanks for your great report. I like the way you organized it! We'll be in Italy in June--can't wait.

We also ate at Tratorria Sostanza. We loved it, and plan to go again!

Thanks so much for the lovely trip report. My husband and I leave in 3 weeks and will be staying in San Gimignano, Florence and Venice. I was especially happy to read your report of the B&B in Venice. I booked us there for 2 nights based on a Karen Brown review, but have yet to read any other info from fellow travelers. Sounds like I picked a winner. ( I had also tried to get into the same hotel you stayed at in Florence, but they were booked up)

Looking forward to trying some of your restaurant recommendations.

So glad to read and enjoy your report. We will be going at the same time of year in 2007 so it was good to hear about the temps that you experienced. We are staying in tuscany and training to rome and florence. Thinking that we would like to also see venice. Do you recall the length of time it took to get from florence to venice and maybe venice back to chiusi in tuscany? Wonderful trip report by the way....will be referring to it to make our plans. Thanks.

5€ for a Fanta! And I though 4€ for an Orangina or Coke in Paris was high!

Great trip report - I like how you organized it and am thinking of changing how I do the rest of my work-in-progress!

Glad you had a great time!
