Thanks for a wonderful trip report and for pointing out the Mucha Museum. We visit early May and I would have bypassed this had you not mentioned it.

Did you take taxis anywhere, and has their reputation improved?

brookums71 Mar 31st, 2013 05:52 AM

ThulaMama- we only took a taxi service to and from airport and they were excellent. But when we were there 10 yrs ago we had some issues.
aussie_10- glad I could help. Enjoy.
are you coming all the way from Austrailia????wow!

Thank you for your great report. We are going in September. We fell asleep though our first concert in St. Petersburg Russia last year so I could totally relate.

Glad you enjoyed!

Pasta Fresca was our favorite restaurant of our Berlin/Prague trip. Thanks for the recommendation!

brookums71 Apr 20th, 2013 04:04 PM

indy_dad, glad my recommendation helped. Going to Germany/Berlin in the fall(Frankfurt-Berlin).

brookums71 Jun 6th, 2013 06:22 PM

Actually Brussels-Belgium in the fall.

Leely2 Jun 6th, 2013 06:31 PM

Brookums, what time was your flight that you needed to be there at 4am? That is indeed obscenely early.

Enjoyed your report--very helpful.

6 am!

aussie_10 Jun 15th, 2013 04:17 PM

brookums71, yes we are travelling to Prague from Australia.
But first we will be visiting Switzerland and Germany in September/October.

I have copied and pasted your excellent trip report. I know they take time (I wrote my one and only trip report and know they take a lot of time - but it is a great memory to keep). Thanks for the great tips and ideas for Prague.

We visited Belgium last year (your fall) and loved it. One day I will try and get around to writing another trip report.

Brookums71, Thank you for such a lovely report! We are going to Prague for the first time next May and your report added to my excitement. A question: how did you book your ballet and opera nights? Have made notes of all your recommendations.

brookums71 Sep 1st, 2013 11:37 AM

nanael,
I am glad you enjoyed the trip report. My husband is quite the arranger. He uses a spread sheet and does massive amounts of research. I highly recommend opera, ballet or symphony. It adds a whole other layer to your trip.
We booked through bohemiaticket.cz
There is the National Theater, The Estates Theater, and the State Opera.Do your homework and have a ball.

If you want to see what´s the weather like in Prague, go to this link:

http://www.praguest.cz/en/weather-in-prague.html

You can also see the Old Town square live. There are also some cool tips for families with kids. I really did not expect to find Prague so kid-friendly!! There are nappy changing tables in most places, plenty of gardens, playgrounds and free activities for kids.

we had so much fun in PRague!!

Just want to say I really enjoyed reading your trip report! I'm leaving for Prague Friday night and am not as well prepared as I'd like to be -- your report helped fill in some gaps. Also, it was a fun read. Never thought to have my notes, etc., bound and covered, love that! :-)
