Trip report from Hardanger in Norway
Hi
It has been a while since my last update and I’m still working on trip reports from Washington DC, Seoul in Korea, Bali in Indonesia and Courmayeur in Italy – but at the moment I have finished a trip report from my home country Norway. My wife Nikki and I have been on two trips to the beautiful Hardanger region in west Norway and here is the trip report http://gardkarlsen.com/Trolltunga_No...rip_report.htm . You can find more photos from the trips on http://gardkarlsen.com/Hardanger_Norway_photos.htm . This is not the place you go if you want an urban getaway but it is a great place to go if you like beautiful landscapes, breathtaking fjords, high mountains and roaring waterfalls! Our main goal on this trip was to trek/climb to the amazing Trolltunga – you get quite a view from this place as you can see from this photo: http://gardkarlsen.com/Hardanger/Nik...tunga_jump.JPG Get in touch if you have any questions or comments and happy travels to you all in the future. |
Thank you for this wonderful report with photos. Neither of ypu appear to have a fear of heights! We loved our visit to Norway and I am enjoying your experiences.

Fantastic report! We were planning on doing Trolltunga a couple of weeks ago but ran out of available days. Reading your report is a more than acceptable replacement.

Loved reading your trip report. We were in Voss in April 2011 and did the Flåm railway and the ship across Sognefjorden. We too stayed at The Fleischer. It was pretty much the only game in town. Our room had Twin beds across the room from each other with a table in between so it was even less desirable than yours. No couch either! I booked the least expensive room, knowing we would only be there 2 nights.
We had dinner at the hotel as it was just before Easter and no place else was open. We had to wait for a table even though there was clearly space. We did like the breakfasts though. To us, all you can eat house cured lox made me beyond giddy! Thanks for bringing back many memories. We were so taken with Norway and realized we spent far to little time there, we are headed back next March. We will fly into CPH and take the ferry to Bergen to start our journey. I may have question for you..... Likely a lot! Thanks. |
Hi. Thanks for the kind feedback :-) No, you can't have fear of heights when doing the via ferrata to Trolltunga. Check out the videos at the bottom of the photo page and it will give you an idea of the climb ;-)
Get in touch on e-mail DebitNM if you have any questions. Have you been to Stavanger to see Preikestolen and Kjerag? Regards Gard http://gardkarlsen.com - trip reports and pictures |
We have not been to Stavanger; I see the the ferry stops there - perhaps a few days in the area is warranted. I will be in touch, thanks for the kind offer.
