Hi, Flygirl and Stu,
Thanks for your comments. We came back a while ago from a week at the Club Méd in Cancún, and I've been busy with taxes etc, and haven't checked the Forum in a while. I see there's now a Preview button, so I'll have to update my web page again on "Formatting and special characters in Fodor's posts", now at http://ljkrakauer.com/tags.htm. My former Comcast pages disappeared four weeks after I canceled. Yes, Stu, Maurice was still delivering a (huge) wicker basket of <i>hors d'oeuvres</i> when we were last there. But that was way back in October '07. We're considering another trip to France in the Fall of '09, but haven't firmed it up yet. Thanks for writing. Getting favorable comments on my trip reports is one of the things that keeps me posting. - Larry |
Hi Larry, happy to see this report again. Missing Provence!
|
Larry My last visit to Provence with my husband before he died, we ate at Le Tinel by accident, the Mistral had raised its ugly head as we were walking by the restaurant.

Hello Larry
Loved your trip report. We are staying for 2 weeks in Buoux in October. Can't wait our first trip there, we hope to do similar touring to you and I found your day to day reporting invaluable. It will be harder for us doing the driving as it is all on the "wrong side of the road" for us. I have also ordered the book your mentioned. Hope it makes it to Australia |
Cigale, good to hear from you.
Hi, aussie_10, Margie and I have a collection of restaurant files that we collected before our trip. They include not just restaurant names, but also comments and recommendations from people who post on Fodor's or SlowTrav. They are in Microsoft Word, and are organized by town. The main problems with these files are: 1. Taken together, they are voluminous. 2. They date back to 2007 and earlier. But if you'd like me to send some of these along by e-mail, send me a message at [email protected]. The last time I sent something by snail-mail from Boston to Hawaii, it arrived in two days. I was stunned - the snail must have had wings. But of course, that's a US state; mail to Australia is international. Still, I'm sure the Provence book will make it. As far as driving on the "wrong" side of the road, have your partner remind you every time you make a turn or enter a <i>rond-point</i>. When I was young, I had no trouble driving in Britain. But returning later when a lot older, it drove me crazy. I kept drifting to the left in my lane. Regards, Larry |
Thanks Larry
I have ordered the book and had an email confirming my purchase and the book being posted. I will eagerly await its arrival. I will email you for the restaurant files Thank you |
