Trip planned in March

Hi All,
THis has been a very informative site. I was planning on going for my honeymoon to Italy in middle of March. Can anybody guide on the specifics of the weather from North to South, and also give any romantic recommendations.... All kind of relevant information is appreciated and can be emailed to me. Thanks

we were there at that time this past march. as far as romantic recommendations, italy in itself is romantic. i can't give you any specifics (i was there with my kids this time around) As for the weather, we started in venice, it varied from sunny to cloudy and 1 day of rain. temps were maybe high was 60ish, low in evenings could have been in the 40s. layers were necessary. we aroked our way south, the remainder of the trip was sunny and pleasant, 60s+. In Rome, it was 70s and 1 day it hit the low 80s.

hi

without more information i would like to make a few general observations

What do you like to do? If you are into clubs and music that would make for a different trip then if you want to be alone or in nature. I would also make sure you don't go to too many places. It talkes 4 days at least (imho) to get the rythym of a place. With no idea of your time frame or budget i cannot get too specific. But here are a few generalizations:

Venice is one of the most romantic places there is. Riding in a water taxi (wooden motor boats) on the canals or on the lagoon is a romantic treat out of a movie. In Venice ther are museums, music, great food (and lots of bad food), you can rent an appartment or stay in a luxe hotel. Everything but natural beauty and you can find that on the lagoon.

Toscana- beautiful hill towns are our favorite destinations. And you can day trip into Florence or Siena for museums or shopping or dining. Spend a week in one town and make daily drives to local spots to visit. Slow pace and you can jst do what you want.

Rome- great city with incredible museums, dining and ancient sights. Great city for just walking. We love to stay in Trastevere in an appartment and wander the bohemian neighborhoods nearby.

Sorrento-- Sorrento is a resort town with lots of motorcycle and scooter traffic. But it has a great blend of nightlife, dining and is close to antiquities such as the archological museum and the capodimonte in Naples, Herculano and Pompeii (along with Oplontis), the amalfi drive, paestum (3 greek temples in a set of ancient ruins that rival pompeii for wealth and size). For a more romantic setting you can stay in Massa Lubresne.

But to see any of these areas you really should spend a week at the minimum. I would rather go less places and really see them.

E-Mail me if you want more specific reccomendations
