Trip Photos Posted - Prague, Budapest, Brugge and Amstedam

I've cut my trip photos from Prague, Budapest, Brugge and Amstedam down from over 600 to 125.

I didn't have it in me to be more rusthless.

Hope they help others with their trip.

Myer, thanks for posting your trip photos! I enjoyed your photos of Prague, especially with captions, that was helpful. I am planning our first trip to eastern/central europe, to include Czech republic and Poland.

Thanks so much Myer for posting your photos! I loved seeing Prague especially. What a beautiful city! We arrive there May 1 for the first time. How many days were you in each city?

This weekend I spoke with a woman from Amsterdam who was selling bulbs at our Garden show. We're also going to be in the Netherlands for 9 nights, and she couldn't imagine what we'd have to do for that much time. Ha, I feel like I don't have enough time there.

Thanks again!

Beautiful site - beautiful photos. Thank you.
BTW, as an equipment junkie, would you mind sharing what sort of camera you used? Your low light pictures were quite nice.

I've been preoccupied with other travels and didn't check here.

In case any of those who asked questions are still here.

Prague 4 1/2 days
Budapest 3 days
Brugge 2 days
Amsterdam 3 days
Brussels 1 day

Camera equipment.

The older trips were taken with a Canon SLR film camera and i scanned cheap 4x6 prints. It shows. When I get time I'll rescan the negatives.

2006 Europe trip, 2007 golf photos and 2007 Bryce Canyon, Zion, etc and later are taken Canon SLR digital camera (350XT). I carry one walk-around lens.
It was a 28-105 lens (2006) but due to the size of the digital sensor I have since change to a 17-70 lens (2007).

Yes, it is my own site. While the viewing program is somewhat inflexible (you can't skip photos), I wrote the program myself and I'm not about to attempt to modify it.

I'd rather spend the time travelling and taking photos.

Your own site is not that big a deal. Doesn't cost much to purchase and only about $10 per month for hosting.

There are several free viewing programs around that I will look at to switch to.

And thank you for the comments. I've been travelling a bit in the US.

Recently Bryce Canyon, Zion, Grand Canyon and Sedona and in Sept going to NY and Philadelphia.

In early stages of considering:
Tuscany & Greek Islands
Arches National Park
Seattle, Victoria and Vancouver
Charleston & Savanah
among others

Love the photos of Brugge, I visited in April and fell in love with the city. Did you buy any chocolate ? I did and my favourite was from Dumon. Can't wait to return next year even my 13 year old son liked it there (could it have been the chocolate and the vans selling fries in the main square ?).

KEW,
I don't remember what we bought. That's my wife's department.

Brugges has to be the most beautiful small city.

You can see recent photos at:

Hi Myer -

Your photos are beautiful! I am traveling with my husband for 2 weeks in August and our plans right now include Prague, and Budapest. However, I was very inspired by your pictures of Brugge, and would very much like to add this to our trip. Was wondering if you could share the transportation methods you used to get to each of these beautiful places?

Thanks so much!
-Nora

noraeileen,

If I remember correctly, on that flight we flew with AA air miles.

We flew MIA to Prague.

Then we took a 4:20PM train to Budapest arriving almost midnight (the hotel arranged for a taxi to meet us (at our cost)).

On the way back from Budapest to MIA, we were allowed a stop at a gateway city. Rome was not available (we would have spent a few days in Tuscany) so we selected Brussels.

We arrived in Brussels airport at 9:40PM and somehow (customs, luggage, train station, etc) made the 10:04 train to Brussels and on to Brugges arriving a little before midnight.

There were no taxis at the train station so we waited about 15 minutes and one drive by.

After 2 days we trained to Amsterdam and after 3 more days trained to Brussels for our last day and return to MIA.

I hope this helps.

Thanks so much Meyer! We're leaving on August 10th and flying into Vienna for a couple of nights, then to Prague, and Budapest....I really would love for us to hit Brugge as I absolutely adored your pictures! Such a quaint town!

Beautiful pictures! I am planning our first trip to Prague and Budapest next summer. Interesting picture of Synagogue in Budapest. I never saw organ in the synagogue before, was it converted at some point to cathedral?

Myer, your photographs are beautiful, can so relate to taking so many great shots. Thanks for sharing them. One question, what's with the shoes on the Danube? I've visited Amsterdam and Budapest, loved them both, always enjoy seeing pictures from another perspective.
