trip outside paris

Hi. My husband and I are planning a trip to Paris in July. I have been to Paris twice before and he never has been to Europe. He would like to visit another country or city or France. We have a total of 10 days for our trip. Does anyone have any suggestions of where we could travel to easily and where we could stay?
Thanks

What are your greatest interests?

If you are thinking of just relaxing, how about taking the train to Southern France. There are many beautiful beaches.

If you are thinking of culture, how about heading to London or Rome?

Do either of you speak any foreign languages?

With only 10 days, I would limit yourselves to 2 cities. www.venere.com is a great start for finding accomodations.

I've barely begun to give you advice. Let us know more about your likes & dislikes.

Thanks for the advice. What do you think about Bordeaux or going somewhere like Switzerland?

My husband doesnt really just want to sit around and relax. He wants to walk around and sightsee. We dont speak any foreign languages.
Thank

My wife and I just returned from three nights in Amsterdam, two nights in Brugge, Belgium and five nights in Paris. We thought it was a great mix of cities/contrasts. We had a great time. You might want to check my user name and take a look at the thread titled "I am at the top of the giant slide and afraid to go down"...for more details.

Feel free to email me with questions you might have.
