trip itenerary
i have my itenerary narrowed down to two possibilities for italy november.
1.
fly yo venice:
2 nights venice
2 nights florence(am train from venice)
rent car in florence
3 nights in tuscany (car, pick up florence drop in orvieto)
2 nights siena, 1 night orvieto with stops in chianti, san g, montelcino
3 nights rome( train from orvieto).
or considering droping night from orvieto adding it to venice and driving strait through from siena to rome.

Your second option is a good one:
Fly into Venice
Nights 1, 2 and 3 in Venice
Train to Florence
Nights 4 and 5 in Florence
Pick up car in Florence and drive to Tuscany.
Nights 6, 7, 8 and 9 in Tuscany
Drive to Rome and stop in Orvieto for the afternoon, see the Duomo, have lunch, shop and then drive to Rome (about 75 miles) to drop off the car.
Nights 10, 11 and 12 in Rome
Another option would be to spend five nights in Tuscany and see Florence as a day trip. My preference is to be in the heart of a city when doing a city. But that would depend on how much you actually want to see and do in Florence.
Very nice trip!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
How about dropping the car in Orvieto, leave luggage with car rental people.
See the town and have lunch in the garden at
I Sette Consoli
Pzza Sant?Angelo 1A
phone/fax 011 39 0763 343911
Train to Rome.
