Tres exciteeeee

Cannot concentrate on work at work because after reading all the Paris ideas I am just too excited. Daughter #2 is 17 and in High School 1 hour north of Paris. The rest of the family - 6 of us - will fly to CDG on Thursday 12/22 and then pick her up (I think by car so we can catch up on what she's been doing since August.) She can get our Metro passes a week ahead, thanks to your 'heads up'. Our hotel in Paris. We stay until Tuesday and fly to see relatives in the south for their big New Year's Party. I really could use anyone's holiday "musts". All I remember of my 'year abroad' is how beautiful the draped lights were on the Tour Eiffel. We will probably do one "fancy" meal and need to get reservations fast... and I have to say there are too many suggestions! Help! We have 1 native aunt, me & husband who speak french, 1 fluent college senior, 1 military academy sophomore with passable french, Daughter #2 (who probably now speaks better "Parisien" than any of us) and and one 11 year old son (who says we owe him:) We could do the sites alone but I do want an idea of a good tour that could deal with the 7 us. Thank you everyone, you've made it a treat to "research". MM

Glad to hear that you are excited and also that you have someone near Paris to help.

Just a suggestion since you do have someone in the country. Do not rent a car just to drive to pick up your daughterN°2. Since she is in France, she can much more easily meet you at your hotel than for 5 of you to drive from the airport to the burbs and then back to Paris.

Nothing to add except happy to read about someone so excited. We need more good news .

We really liked Atelier Maitre Albert and, as I recall, it seems like they could comfortably accomodate a group of seven. It is a rotisserie place - and everything was simply fabulous.

Here's another recommendation for Atelier Maitre Albert. The web menu, which is limited, is supplemented by daily specials.

You can also reserve (and check out other restaurants) at www.reservethebest.com
