Trenitalia train reservations

Have been trying to get pricing/book on Trenitalia site (English) but can't seem to get past train selection. It shows a selection of times, I choose one and it goes to the next screen showing only my selected train. But there is nowhere to go from there. Can't calculate prices or reserve/purchase. This is the first time I've used this site. Am I missing something?
Thanks, Lisa S

Lisa,

On the page that shows the selection of train schedules, try clicking on the "shopping cart" symbol for the train you want to take.

Also, read this link by Ira before you proceed to buy. It contains great instructions and tips on buying "Trenitalia Tickets Online"

I don't think the English page is fully functional yet. Try the Italian side.

I've had the same problem. I wonder if it's that I'm trying to book too far in advance. According to the site, if there's no shopping cart icon, buying online is not an option:

Once you've searched for a train, the system chooses and shows all the possible travel options available to you on one or more pages.

The options listed are ordered according to departure time; clicking on one of the other options at the top of the table, you can also check journeys by Journey time or Number of stops along the way.

Every option displays departure time, arrival time, train category (for example, Eurostar, Intercity, Interregionale...), and journey time.

If a shopping cart appears in the Buy column next to a travel option, then it means that you can purchase that ticket online. Click on the shopping cart to purchase your ticket immediately; if the first options that appear don't meet your travel requirements, you can look at Other Options or start a New search.

For tickets that cannot be purchased online (in other words, those which have "NO" in the Buy column), you need to go directly to a station or an authorised Trenitalia travel agency.

You cannot buy tickets more than 60 days before the scheduled departure date. Maybe this is the reason you're having problems with the website.

GAC -- that's good to know. I tend to overplan JUST A BIT, so I figured I was just getting too far ahead of myself :)

Thanks all - especially GAC. You answered my question. I'm just too early.
Thanks, Lisa S
