Trenitalia tickets, rome - venice
 

I have followed suggestions for buying train tickets, I get the 29 euro fare and enter all payment info, but after the credit card info it comes back payment denied. I'm trying to purchase tickets for July 8th and return July 12th to Rome. There's no balance on the card, so I don't think it's a credit problem.

It is possible that the computer at your CC company is blocking the transaction.

I recommend that you check with your bank that issued the credit card. I learned yesterday about another person's similar experience.

Here's what she told me, "It seems all our problems stemmed from our particular VISA card. Because the Trenitalia site is a "foreign" website, our VISA card from Chase Bank threw up a fraud alert. We've since cleared it up -- and purchased our train tickets -- but it took almost 2 weeks and many, many phonecalls. Chase told us that we should have called them BEFORE we tried to purchase the tickets and then we wouldn't have had any problems."

Thank you! The CC company was blocking the charge out of Rome. It took about 5 phone calls back and forth, but I have my tickets!
