Trenitalia Question
Good Morning
I just booked seats on a Trenitalia train from Salerno to Rome on an ES*, in first class (there was a 29 Euro promo). I was unable to view the seat map, I just got the box with the red x, so they assigned seats and it said Coach 1, Seats 54,55. Is there anyway to find out if these seats face forward or backward or if they are next to each other or across? I think I would get sick if I were sitting backward for 2 1/2 hours. Thanks. |
Hi J,
Unlike airplanes, trains can go in both directions. There is no way to tell if your seats will be facing front or back. ((I)) |
I was hoping that seats would be the same depending which direction you were traveling.
Thanks. |
Personally, I prefer to sit going backward, and I am subject to motion sickness. Have you had a motion-sickness problem with this before?
I believe others have mentioned locations online where you can view seating charts for the cars. I recall that successive numbers aren't necessarily next to one another. As ira said, keep in mind that sometimes you might start a train trip going forward, but eventually go backward since trains pull head-in to some stations and then reverse direction to leave. |
I believe the seats are across from eath other. I switch with my husband so I am facing forward.
