Trenitalia pass vs. point-to-point tickets?

My friend & I are travelling from Milan to Sorrento over 2 weeks in October, and I'm trying to figure out which option would be cheaper. Can anyone help?
We're both over 26 yrs old - most likely travelling in the mornings.
Itinerary:
Milan to Venice Thurs Oct 14
Venice to Florence (with a pit-stop at Bologna) on Sat 16th
Florence to Montalcino (with a pit-stop at Pisa) on Mon 18th
Montalcino to Rome on Tues 19th
Rome to Ravello (with a pit-stop at Pompeii) on Thurs 21st
Ravello to Sorrento on Sat 23rd
Sorrento to Rome on Mon 25th

Any advice on getting to and from our destinations is much appreciated. Thanks!

I assume you do know that neither Montalcino nor Ravello have any train service. And, Pompeii is serviced by a local commuter line. Have you looked at www.trenitalia.com for routes and schedules? That is a complex itinerary. You may want to read the info about Italy trains at slowtrav.com

Hi ang,

You can get the schedules and prices for each leg of your trip at www.trenitalia.com/en.

To get from Rome to Ravello, you take the train to Naples. You change to the Circumvesuviana to Sorrento. You then take the SITA bus to Amalfi where you change to the bus to Ravello.

Also Pisa isn't "on the way" to Montalcino from Florence. Pisa is straight west of Florence, whereas Montalcino is directly south of it.
