Here's another miracle. I finally received a refund check from Trenitalia for a canceled train. It was an overnight train from Padua to Paris and was canceled due to the French strike last fall.
I for sure thought that I'd never see that money again. |
Alison,
While you should be able to buy them at a station in Italy, Trenitalia doesn't sell tickets online for routes/legs entirely outside of Italy. Do you plan for one leg to be on a night train or do you plan to travel all day? |
I have a 3 quick questions about buying tickets (Mini fare) for 4 people.
Why do mini fare ticket prices rise the more tickets you buy at once? (1 costs 15E, but 4 cost 69E) I imagine no one would recommend buying one at a time given all the difficulties buying through the Trenitalia site. Too stressful! Do 17 year olds count as children or adults? If they are listed as children the price is a bit lower. Once I put in my numbers of travelers and click on the fare I want, it asks for preferred seating. It only gives the option to put one type of seat in: window, median, corridor. If I put in 'window', will we be given 4 window seats? We want to sit together, but I don't see how to do that. Thanks! |
I answered your questions on your other thread including giving a better Trentalia link that will let you see a seat diagram.

I have been trying to go through the Trenitalia purchasing process this morning and am ready to launch my laptop across the room! Trying your directions ... hopefully they work ...

This thread is old so much of it doesn't apply any more.

Dear MichaelT,
I created an account just to thank you for this post. You saved me! I had been trying to buy a ticket on the crazy Trenitalia website for more than one hour, and I wouldn't have reached to do it if it had not been for your post. Thanks so much! |
