Glad you were finally able to get it worked out. It certainly isn't the most userfriendly site I have ever purchased from, that's for sure.

I want to get tickets from Rome to Venice on Trenitalia's website. Do you know if there is a surcharge applied to buy the tickets? Or am I better off buying the tickets when I arrive?

There is no surcharge and you can often get a better deal online by looking for the promotional fares

Thank you TexasAggie I read this site all the time and I actually book my trip using all the information I had gather here.I will go back in and try to get the tickets.

I'm still having trouble finding a timetable. I put in Rome as the departure city and Naples as where I want to alight, the day of travel (maybe it's too far in the future: March 28, 2006) and then a random time of 10am and I get an error message telling me to look at the timetable. The problem is that I can't find the timetable. Any suggestions out there? I'm usually not so clumsy when it comes to the internet, but this site has me baffled.

Hi Jc,

The www.trenitalia.com site doesn't want to go past 31 December 2005.

Many thanks to ItaliaBound for identifying this issue and to all others who responded. I just encontered the same problem with pop-up blockers while booking on trenitalia and was able to resolve it in seconds, since I was aware of IB's precedent.

I also managed to book a whole Couchette -4 compartment for the 3 of us using all the other helpful info.

Isn't this forum fabulous? :-D
