Trenitalia booking successful but they have assigned names as Mr. and Mrs xxxxxxx

I am happy - have managed to book two journeys on the trains in Italy this morning (Venice/Florence 2 adults and Naples/Rome "Two for one" special) and have received my confirmation emails with booking numbers etc. However, on the confirmation note Trenitalia have assigned the tickets to the names of Mr. and Mrs......... BUT I am travelling with my daughter (16 years old) and I have purchased an adult ticket for her. At no time was I asked for the names of those travelling together, so I am assuming Trenitalia defaults to Mr/Mrs, but will be happy to see us travelling as Mrs/Ms.......(the same surname), and there will be not be any confusion with the ticket inspector when he comes to inspect our confirmation email. Have other travellers had this occur and did you experience any problems????

i believe train tickets are transferable. that is probably just how it comes out for its 2 x 1.

only important thing is when reserving or paying over the phone and later picking up at station ..( if this scenario ever occurs in your reservation ploy) then the same credit card must be presented at station to the agent as identification to pick up tickets ordered by phone. ( at least that is how it is in spain)

Hi,

I just came back from Italy where I traveled with my family from Venice to Rome on the Eurostar. My confirmation came out to my name , their names where not listed as I bought the 5 seats together. The train inspector just asked me for the ticketless confirmation e-mail. He didn't ask for any passport or other Id for myself or any others in my group.

You could buy your daughter a pair of those 'Groucho Marx' glasses with attached mustache and big nose. It would be worth a giggle, anyway. Remember Elvira once wore a tiara to identify herself at a meeting in London.

Fodor's is always good for a laugh. If I have to buy Groucho Marx glasses / nose it would probably be me who has to wear them. Definitely can't see my daughter being prepared to put them on!!! LOL
But your feedback indicates that I do not have to be concerned about how the ticket has been named. Many Thanks.
