Travelling to Stuttgart from London
Could anyone please tell me what the cheapest way to travel from London to Stuttgart is? I've looked at a variety of airlines but they seem to be on the expensive side.
Thank you!
Thank you!

I am delighted that someone else knows the seat 61 site..this is one of my very favourite sites..It gives you all the info you could ever need about train travel in Europe.
You could look at Eurolines..the International coach travel people..www.eurolines.com although I am not sure they go to Stuttgart.

I am also a fan of the "man".
I would keep looking for flights. By train it would be about $300 to $400 (just a rough estimate). You need to get accross the Channal. The Chunnel is the best way to go there, but there are less expensive ways to go. From Paris it's just a few hours by train, not too bad. The cheapest way may not be the most convenient, so be prepared.
Have a good trip.

hi there,
Lufthansa offers flights from about 150 EUR oneway, so 300 - 400 Dollars for a train is no catch. Also try Ryan Air, they dont serve Stuttgart, but Hahn (near Frankfurt), so perhaps this is worth if You realy wanna safe money.
have fun

There's an overnight bus for 61 pounds. See National Express website. Or fly to Munich on a low-cost airline (from memory it's an hour by train) See www.flybudget.com for a list of relevant airlines to several German cities.
Only BA and Lufthansa do London-Stuttgart direct. Ebookers and lastminute.com might well offer better prices than the airlines' websites. Especially if you're coming back to London, and staying over a Saturday night.
It's very unlikely trains will undercut buses or well-negotiated plane prices.
