Travelling to Paris at night

Hi.. I am leaving to Paris for the weekend with my mom for a shopping trip. We will be arriving quite late approx. around 1030pm by eurostar..I am planning to get a taxi at the train station to our hotel somewhere in Champ Elysees, I was wondering whether if its safe to travel in Paris at that time in a taxi? I do hope it is ok...

Yes. By Paris standards, 10:30 at night is fairly early. The streets, cafes, bistros, etc., will still be full of people and you should feel quite safe. I walked around Paris alone during my recent trip and felt comfortable until quite late. Take the usual precautions with your purse and other valuables and you'll be just fine.

Happy travels,

Kate

yes, that's fine
be sure to let your hotel know about your late arrival

Traveling by taxi before midnight? No problem. (The cab driver could be mildly concerned about whether you are a reliable person, but even that is unlikely.)

Greetings,

Thank you for the responses..its been really helpful. This is not my first time in Paris, but the first time arriving in Paris at night.. It made me slightly worried because yesterday I was reading some reviews from some travelers whom just been to Madrid..well from what I read..Madrid is not a very safe city..even you have to be careful with the taxis. And the thing was this comment not only came from one traveler. I've been to Barcelona and it was absolutely fine. Maybe it is a different scenario in Madrid. Anyway, thanks for the responses. Anymore responses are welcomed though!
