Travelling from Amsterdam to Brugge
Hi,
Am travelling from Amsterdam to Brugge on 27th June, 2008, Friday.
As per the NMBS (belgium railways) homepage, this should be my itinerary:
27th June Friday - 14.56 - 17.01 - Amsterdam Centraal– Antwerpen-Centraal - IC 9248
Friday - 17.22 - 18.40 - Antwerpen-Centraal - Brugge - B 1839
Price - € 42.4
Cant buy this ticket online from NMBS site, since my credit card doesnot have a certified '3D-Secure' by Bank Card Company.
So I try the NS Hispeed Online Booking site. After the first page in English, it goes back to Dutch & though I ve filled in every detail, it keeps on throwing up a message -
Wij verzoeken u vriendelijk te letten op de volgende zaken:
* Het veld 'Pincode voor afhaalautomaat dient te bestaan uit 4 cijfers.
Now what does that mean!!!
Any other way I can book my tickets online?
I dont want to keep it till the last minute to buy from station, since I ve read over the net that if bought from the counter, need to pay around 5-7 euros as surcharge for international ticket & if bought through the vending machine at station, not sure if it will accept my credit card (the same reason as NMBS refused my card - though I ve booked tickets online SNCF)
What to do - please advice.
Thanks.

You have chosen to pick up your ticket from a machine. You are being asked to choose a 4-digit code which you must enter in the machine at Amsterdam Centraal station in order to collect your ticket. You can choose any code, but don't forget it or you won't be able to get the ticket.
These trains don't have reserved seats so there is no reason to book in advance. The tickets will be valid on any IC train on the same day.

If your card has a magnetic strip rather than a chip, you will most likely have to pick up your ticket at the window. Many of the machines will not read the strip. We also had a machine pick-up (in France)but had to use the ticket window. Although that experience was in France, we also found that we could not use our card at the station in Holland. Even though your ticket is prepaid, the machine still requires the card that you used to order for verification.
