Travelling by an
Could someone please help me find the July 2015 ferry and/or hydrofoil schedule to get me from Positano or Amalfi to Sorrento or Naples? I've looked at alilauro.com ( can't switch the site to English but it's map indicates it doesn't go to both areas I need ) travelmar, coopsantandrea , did google searches but couldn't find what I needed. OR is there a different way to get to Naples or Sorrento without going on the winding coastal road. I am taking the train from Rome to Salerno, then a ferry to Amalfi then a bus to Praiano where we are staying. I want to shave off a stop as we are going to Pompeii Ruins and Vesuvius and then to Naples for the night. Thanks!

Hi
Try http://www.ok-ferry.com/en/company/alilauro.aspx. Or http://www.travelmar.it/it/orari. Hope this helps. |
Thanks worldinabag. I will give those a try. I did just read on a tripadvisor ( I think ) forum that currently the sea around the Amalfi coast are off limits for all passenger craft travels due to WWII arms found in the water.

You could go via ferry from Salerno. The service from Sorrento is suspended until further notice.

Oops sorry - misread your post. You will have to backtrack using the Salerno ferry as there are no services from Positano in the direction of Sorrento.
Alternatively, you could use the Positano Jet to Capri and then take a ferry to Naples/Sorrento but this will be an expensive option as Positano to Capri is 17 euro alone. http://www.lucibello.it/web/en/posit...line-to-capri/ |
On the other hand, the service will most likely be up and running in July so just use the coopsantandrea link and use the UK flag to change it to English.

Thanks blueeyedcod. Love your username! A couple options for me to try, including waiting out the WWII arms situations.

You could also take the ferry from Amalfi back to Salerno, then a 30-minute train ride from Salerno to Naples.
