travellers chexs

why are traveller's chexs no good in big cities in europe?

Because most banks just don't want or can't change them :) It's not funny to go to various banks trying to change the travellers checks..it happened to me in London 10 years ago...imagine now :)

And they are even less good in small towns/villages.

Trade goods like beads don't work too well, either.

Becasue this is the 21st century and no one wants to deal with random little pieces of paper. Banks want to do everything electronically - just like at home.

Is "Travellers chexs" a snack food made with cereal that you snack on the plane and train? If so, by all means take some. If on the other hand you're talking about some sort of archaic financial gimmick -- forget it.
