As I understand it from previous threads, European banks are not permitted to charge for withdrawals, so if there is an ATM charge, it is your own bank doing it. I checked on mine, and that was the case. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Did you actually check with your bank, Debbie?

Sue, you got it right. European banks are not allowed to charge for cash withdrawals and they don´t. So if there is some charge, it is from your own bank.

I'll also concur that Sue is correct. The charges for ATM withdrawals are from your stateside bank.
