traveling western europe in need of a travel guide! suggestions??

At the end of this month I am leaving to travel Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Copenhagen. I am in dire need of a helpful guide book to supply me with maps, cheap restraunts and hostels. Please help!

If you want inexpensive restos and hostels then Let's Go is the guide you want. Full of good info. I've used this series for many decades.

You can also check hostelworld.com and google other hostel organizations. I suggest you make reservations in advance for hostels.

I don't understand. Why don't you just go to the bookstore and browse the travel section to find a book that suits your needs? Or even the library?

I like Fodors and The Lonely Planet for writing but enjoy the DK Eyewitness guides to look at.
Try checking one out at a library or hang out at a bookstore to see what fits your needs/personality.

Lonely Planet's "Europe on a Shoestring" is the best IMO.

Personally, I couldn't stand to do those 5 cities with only one guide. But Fodors Europe will cover them.

I like the Blue Guides for in depth and the Dorling Kindersley for superficial

Um, isn't it a bit odd to post on a Fodor's website seeking advice on guidebooks? Why not pick up your hand, place it in front of your face and then try to figure out why your vision is obscured?
