Traveling to Rome, Naples & Sicily in Nov. Need advice....
I will travel to Rome in Nov. I am wanting to go to Naples and Sicily. I need advice on how to travel to cities and where to stay cheap, but nice. $50-70. We will be there 10 days. Any tips would be great!

Marsha, when you say $50.00 to $70.00 are you talking US Dollars or Euro??

Assuming you do mean dollars, I think you are in hostel territory with that budget; even if it is Euroes, that is not a lot. November will keep the costs down a bit, but for info on hostels, you might be better with Rough Guide or Lonely Planet type guides/chat rooms.
Getting from city to city is easier to answer-the train is what you need and there is very good advice available on a number of previous threads here on how to book once you get to Italy. There is no need to book in advance in November, one of the lowest tourism months in Italy. |
I have just re-read your original posting, Marsha, and while the advice re: trains still stands, I realize you said you wanted to visit Sicily, too. You will have to take the ferry to get there, of course, but it is still the same conditions: no need to book ahead as November is quite quiet. BTW, hostels are more of a challenge in Palermo, Siracusa etc than they are in Rome, Florence and Naples-you definitely need to get hold of youth/budget oriented travel guides for Sicily.

if you get the train ticket to Sicily it will include the ferry as the train boards on the ferry
