Traveling to Praiano in Apr-May
Three retired girlfriends are traveling to Praiano for two weeks. We will arrive in Naples and are trying to determine the best way to travel from there to Praiano. I have read several notes that it is easy to access public transport but I think we gals will do better with a taxi or limo. Just wanted to know if anyone knew a reputable business and what price to expect. I have been given 97 euros one way. Sound right for 41 miles??? Anyone have any feedback for Praiano "todos"?

That price sounds about right. I would also recommend a driver.
I will not recommend the drive that I used for a Naples airport pickup, but many others here will give you names... http://www.amalfi-drive.com/fares.html |
..meant to write "the driver" that I used...

Here's a way to save BOTH time AND money:
1. If arriving by train, get off at SALERNO station; 2. Walk 400 meters to Concordia Dock and take Cooperativa Sant'Andrea ferry boat to AMALFI (35 minutes; 6 Euros); 3. Get off the ferry boat and take the SITA bus to Praiano (25 minutes; 2.40 Euros). NOTE: The Cooperativa Sant'Andrea ferry service runs from April through October of each year. When not running, there is an hourly SITA bus which departs from directly outside the Salerno train station. Travel time by bus to AMALFI is 75 minutes and fare is 3.60 Euros. www.coopsantandrea.it www.sitabus.it http://www.sitabus.it/sitabus/campan...A/QUADROXV.pdf |

martydave,
I love Praiano. I hope you will too! Where are you staying for 2 weeks? A villa? That's always been my dream. Be sure and have dinner a couple nights at least at Il Brace. Wonderful food, wonderful owners. It's right across the street from the Tramonto d'Oro. |
