Traveling To Italy...What should i see
 

i am going to Italy with my family for 2 weeks we are going to Venice, Florence, Rome, Pisa/Tuscany, the amalfi coast, maybe capri and flying out of naples

What are some of the best things to see around these areas?

There are too many to name and it depends on your interests. Do you like art, history, ruins, food, natural beauty, cities or countryside? Is family your spouse and kids, parents? What are their ages? The best thing for you to do is get two or three good guidebooks and do a lot of reading, so you can make choices that match your family's interests.

two weeks is not enough time to see Venice, Florence, Rome, Pisa/Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Capri and Naples. You'll have less than 1.5 days free in each location.

You have a LOT of reading up to do . . .

No need for any advice from us, you'll only be seeing train stations. Sorry to be harsh, but you can't seriously think that you can see all of those places in 2 weeks.

We are going back this week fo our 17th trip to Italy and have not seeen it all. Spend 20 hours in a good guide book and then come back with questions.

Oh for heavens' sake - Why are you going there if you haven't a clue what to do when you get there? Get some guidebooks and a map and read and study. We don't know you - you're a complete stranger on the internet - how would we know how you would best spend your time? You're presumably shelling out a lot of money to get there - do your research and make the most of it. And I agree, you have overplanned - you can't see/do all that in the limited time you've allotted.

OK, I too agree that it isn't enough time, but have grouped into 4 sections what you typed. Can you fly into Venice? Now, take your 14 days and take 2 away because of travel. That would leave 3 days in each of the 4 areas above. You could take 1 day away from Venice and Amalfi Coast and give Florence and Rome each another day (yes, read read read and see what calls out to you). You will lose 1/2 traveling from one area to the other so leave early on those days. You'll only get highlights but don't worry, once Italy takes hold, she doesn't let go. You'll be back!

Um - how did you pick those places if you don;t know what there is to see/do there?

I think that the best way to see many things in such a short time is to go on a pre-programmed tour. Won´t be able to see anything in depth but you can always pick the places you might want to come back to when you have another chance.
