traveling from the airport to the port for a cruise

im traveling in august to rome's fco airport. from there, i need info on how to get to the civitavecchia port to catch my cruise ship. i was told not to take a taxi and to use the trains. does anyone know what trains to take from the airport to civitavecchia port. and what station to get off for the port. we have plenty of time. any input is appreciated

You would have to first get to Termini via the Leonardo Express.

Go to trenitalia.com and find current schedules and prices.

I priced a few car services and they were reasonable and far less hassle than using the trains after a long flight.

The above is, I believe, a recent post about this issue but in reverse.

You do not necessarily have to go all the way to Termini if you can get a train which stops in Trastevere and change there for a train to Civitavecchia

Hi Nico - From FCO take the FARA SABINA/ORTE train (- NOT the Leonardo Express/Roma Termini train).
Deps. are every 15 mins.

Change at TRASTEVERE (- or Ostiense*) for Civitavecchia.

Whether to change at Trastevere or Ostiense depends on your departure time from FCO. See:
www.trenitalia.com

Hope this helps ...

Steve
