traveling between lake como and venice
I am leaving for Italy in a few weeks and would like to know what towns I should stop in between Bellagio and Venice. We will be driving and don't want to miss anything.
|
Lake Garda (Sirmione area) and Verona are fantastic.
|
Haven't been to Garda but second the recommendation about Verona.
|
We are taking a similar trip end of next week - when are you going?
We are in Venice October 1-5, leave Venice and then are going through Verona, up to Bergamo and then to Bellagio - October 5-8 and then Milan last night (9th) before we leave. I asked the same question a week or so ago and that helped me decide. |
|
We were just there the beginning of the month. We drove from Venice to Verona for one overnight, then drove to Como where we left the car and took the hydrofoil to Bellagio. You will not need a car in Bellagio.
Verona was wonderful, wish we had more time there. |
Don't miss Padua (Padova) - www.primitaly.it/veneto/padova (in Italian)
and www.turismopadova.it (click on Britflag bottom right for english) It's only about a half-hour by train from Venice, probably less by car. For the famous Giotto chapel Scrovegni where you must book in advance check www.cappelladegliscrovegni.it/index_eng.asp WK |
WK, any chance to see the chapel in Padova without pre-booking? We are going to visit the city, but do not know which day.
