Doesn't your sister live in Avignon, and who would know? Or am I confusing you with another Anne Court?

In 2 days it is barely possible to take a train to Paris and then Bayeux and see Normandy and MSM. I think it really impossible to drive it from the south. I would spend the days in Paris, taking the train to get there. If you really want to go to Normandy then cut some time off your Provence time.

You could take the TGV from Avignon to Rennes, which would take somewhere around 7 hours. If you spent the night somewhere in the vicinity you could drive to Le Mont St-Michel the next morning, spend several hours there, then drive to Caen and catch a train for Paris.

Thanks everybody. I think for those 3 nights we will take TGV from Avignon to Paris (2 1/2 hours) in morning and pick up car in Paris (we are city people so does not worry us) and drive on to Bayeux. Will stay in Bayeux 2 nights and drive to Mt. St. Michel in morning and stay there 1 night returning to Paris the next day. What do you think?

That sounds good, and you should have time for a few sidetrips on your way from Paris to Bayeux/Mont St-Michel and back.
