When I traveled around S.E Asia i used my prepaid credit card for the whole 6 months and it was great, very convenient. I topped it up online once a week and that avoided me taking a credit card with all my money on, that could then easily be lost or stolen, and it avoided me taking out bundles of cash on me every day.
