Mine is the lady in front of me who puts her seat all the way back and throws her long black hair in my face while I'm eating.

Airplanes should have a special section for people with babys and small children. I think it would be nice if the people with children were all seated together.Many years ago I read of a suggestion for a child section in an aircraft.

Lunacy of the lawsuit is matched only by the plea to prevent kids under 6 travelling.

A screaming baby/toddler while extremely unpleasant is not my worst travel nightmare. I can think of many worse things, involving medical emergencies, engine failure, fire, weapons, etc.

Screaming or crying babies? I often offer my assistance as I raised three that flew several times each year, from the age of 6 months, to visit grandparents. Our experiences ranged from the more peaceful to the absolutely ballistic, as far as screaming is concerned.

I dislike sounding dismissive, but have to wish that a screaming baby be your worst travel issue!

sorry - but this is really stupid. Yeah - crying babies on a plane can be maddening. But really, there are ways to deal with the problem, both for the parent and for the other passengers (not to mention the flight crew intervening in particularly bad cases). but to suggest that children under six not travel by air is really stupid. Anyone who's flown has his/her stories of crying babies, but what about the adults with B.O., or the guy with the giant garlic and salami sandwich? Or the drunks (don't get me started on the drunks). Unfortunately, there are a lot of ways to turn a flight into a long, obnoxious experience. Get over it. How about a special airplane section for whiners?

We've traveled with hobbits plenty of times and they're fine. Perhaps it is something to do with the parents . . .

As much as I can't stand screaming kids, and as much as I agree with the other people here that people with kids should be put in their own section with other parents with kids where they can kick each others seats until their heart's content, I have to agree that I can't imagine a baby screaming would make you go deaf. Is it annoying? Oh yeah. Will it make you go deaf though? I doubt it.
