Traveler's PDA

I figured out what I want: a PDA with GPS and trip navigation software, a large enough, clear enough screen to read maps, and enough volume to be able to hear in the car, also a cell phone, at least triband. preferably quadband, and Internet access -- for reading email and checking opening times, etc. A keyboard is not absolutely necessary.

So does such a thing exist -- yet?

Try this PDA by Garmin: http://www.garmin.com/products/iQue3000/

I have a nice HP iPAQ HW6510 that meets all the criteria - including a quad-band GSM phone.

It comes with Microsoft Pocket Streets and maps for North America, and you can download European city maps for free here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...mapsearch.aspx

Thanks, travelhorizons and Robespierre. I will look into your suggestions.

I was given the I-Mate KJam by my son but unfortuately it was stolen (long story). He has now given me the palm Treo 650 which I am still to master.
(There is something called a Garmin in my car which plans a route).
Robespierre is the expert in my opinion and anything he has acquired would be the way to go.
