Betsy,
Thankyou for the info. It seems to make sense that they would have a warranty.
Happy Holidays to you and yours!!

Ooooh, Santa Baby, I would like what ezlivin is getting! That would take care of all my presents and the rest of my friends and family too!
And yes, I have been that good

degas, I always take my Swiss army knife with me on trips and I have used it every single time. Alas, it can no longer go in my carry on.

The model I have is very small, with 1 blade, a scissors, a tweezers on the end, and a tiny red flashlight built in to the end of the knife. It only cost about $20, although that was a few years ago. I don't think I would take one of the larger, heavy models because I know I wouldn't use most of the tools in it.

I want a Totes mini umbrella. I think I have everything else I could ever want for travel.

In tune with MrAmazed, I'm buying my grandchildren a brood of chickens and a goat . . . to be given to a family in a less developed country . . . see www.oxfamunwrapped.com.

My grandchildren are 19 mos and 14 mos and are too little to know about Christmas. I'm hoping this gift to them will help make a better world for them and give them the desire to travel when they are older.

Happy holidays to you all and I hope Santa is good to you.

Sandy (in Denton)

To have enough monry to go to Paris or Prague or London for a week-end.
Ain't going to happen, but it's nice to dream.

An ATM card that automatically gets me a euro or a pound for every dollar.

Surely this shouldn't be too hard for a fat man who goes up chimneys and makes reindeer fly!!

I need a new mini umbrella, too. Mine blew inside out in London this fall and broke one of the ribs.

No. 2: A small carry-on with wheels (less than 22&quot.

No. 3: A luminous dial tiny travel alarm. The unlighted one I have just will not die, and the one I asked for and got for Christmas last year is too fat and just lights up when pressed. (Picky, picky.)

degas, I have a wonderful magnifying glass. It is in a case about three inches square, very thin, the glass pops up and there is a light! I don't know where it came from but I love it.

Since I was not CONVICTED of a crime or SUCCESSFULLY sued this year, I asked Santa for a high paying, low stress job in Europe that requires frequent travel to EU countries and periodic trips back to the States.

Do you think also asking for a car and driver plus a high Euro expense account was being too greedy?

Degas, as perfect as you have been all year I would imagine Old St. Nick would be happy to oblige.

Hold on there, young fella, degas...
While it's a little early for me to dole out the gifts, I will take into consideration the wishes of all who post here, in lieu of filling up my email box at the Norsk Pole.

The simplest of wishes are granted first:

degas : a purple and orange harlequin fanny pack, festooned with peacock feathers.
jor : enough damn cash to send you to finishing school.
Underhill, your request shall be forwarded to Alan, ahem, Mr. Greenspan. There shall be no further discussion of monetary units. I'm an old man, but I'm no economist!
sandy_b, carolyn, grandmere : an umbrella for each of you.
My friends at Archer Daniels Midland will provide the feed and the fine folks at the NIH will provide all the farm animals you kids desire - for as many families you adopt.

I'll check in again soon. Remember, I have taken all your wishes into consideration and will endeavour to fulfill them all before the 25th...
HO HO HO!!

Santa, not so darn fast.

We was just musing over possible requests and may have others to submit later. Save some expensive goodies for the last minute Fodor's crowd!

And what should we have waiting on our tables for you to injest? Are you still an unabashed wine snob?

degas, Santa Claus always drinks dark rum when he visits our house, but that may be a regional thing ... rum in Nova Scotia, single malt in Scotland, wine in France, bourbon down your way. I'm surprised he is still upright by the end of the night.

I would like to the manor be born next time round. This Christmas, I'd like Santa to bring some first class air tickets to France and Italy(RT). I'd love extended time off from work for the trips.

AnselmAdorne, Santa usually drinks Vintage Port at our house!
It is a wonder he can manage to make his deliveries!
