Travel - Venice to Forte Marghera - bus or whatever?
I will need to travel from Venice - Piazzale Roma to Forte Marghera on the mainland for an Architecture Biennale exhibition in the fort. That's in September.
Can anyone advise how to get there? Train to Mestre and bus? Mestre plus taxi?
Seems crazy to be sorting out a bus trip nine months in advance, but I'm a bit of a planning freak.

Their website www.fortemarghera.org/it/il-forte/come-arrivare gives transport information. Apparently there is a bus #12 from Piazzale Roma.

Tom, thanks for that info and the very helpful link.
Ann, I'm heading to Venice for a couple of weeks in September, to immerse myself in the Architecture Biennale. Our visit a couple of years ago overlapped with the Biennale, but only by three or four days, so I could only get a taste of it.
There is "something" happening in connection with the Biennale at Forte Marghera, but I have no further info. I have been keen to see the fort for ages, after getting glimpses only from the train window.
Australia has a new pavilion in the Giardini, and the Aus Biennale exhibit this year, courtesy of a couple of female architects from Sydney, is a swimming pool, complete with seating for spectators. Should be interesting, also an interesting comment on Australia's relationship with water, the driest continent, 90% of us living on the coastal fringe.
Have a great time in Cuba!

Hi Peter,
Any chance you will be in Melbourne Jan 17-19? I'll be in town, trying to get a little GTG together. Looks as if 19th might work for a couple of people. It'd be great to meet you & your wife if you're around then. More in the lounge.

thanks, Peter. We just to back yesterday. I'm pretty sure that it won't replace venice in my affections, but I'm glad we went. TR to follow at some point.
Sadly it means that i won't be able to get to Venice any time soon - having seen quite a lot of the "sights" being able to see some of the Biennale would be very interesting. I'll look forward to reading your take on it.
