YOu can from some places, not sure about Ireland. But you can from England (eg, LIverpool), Netherlands and some other countries, like Germany and France.

And that isn't a luxury cruise company which has various offerings. You could try some cargo ship companies.

1. Ireland to UK by ferry, train to Southampton, Queen Mary II to New York, every other week.
2. Ferry to UK, train to Paris, train to Le Havre, CGA/Liberty freighter to USA. Attachment 2311

There are also ferries from Ireland to France, though not to Le Havre.
